Burger King has gamers in its sights with it’s latest Call of Duty themed Whopper Ad

In its latest bid to appeal directly to the gamers of the world, Burger King has partnered with Call of Duty to bring you a Call of Duty themed Whopper Meal as part of an in-restaurant experience at selected stores throughout. This has created a buzz around the popular gaming franchise ahead of the Modern Warfare Release on the 28th October 2022 which is Activision’s latest release of the popular first-person shooter.

For those who order the Modern Warfare 2 Meal at Burger King, will get exclusive access to an in-game operator skin as well as an hour of double XP for the game. This showcases how real-world initiatives can take effect in the digital world and further emphasises the popularity that digital goods used throughout games hold and how they can be leveraged to provide value in the real world. An excellent combination if you ask us.

Although this campaign is not available at every Burger King store in any country, the campaign is set to do well given that the gaming community will be more likely to take action in order to gain a competitive advantage over other players once the game is released and almost sets it self as a must have trend to obtain. “Have you got the Burger King skin yet?” This could mark the start of brand collaborations across the gaming sector with many real-world experiences and brands which can be offered in exchange for digital goods or perks. So don’t be surprised if you see more and more partnerships like these springing up in the near future. This idea can also be transferred to new and emerging concepts such as NFT’s where digital goods and experiences will play a role in the real world and how consumers interact with brands.

This comes as part of a wider marketing campaign set for the release of Modern Warfare 2 and it’s highly anticipated comeback. The game will be released to the public on the 28th October 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
